Road trip! One of our favorite artists, Jack Johnson, was playing a concert in Rome and we were going down for the evening! Being that it also happened to be our Casa bel Posto rental turnover day we had to make sure everything was ready for our late arriving guests who would be coming while we were gone. We finally hit the road at 4 p.m. and made our way down to Rome.
We were staying in a hotel very close to the concert venue which was at a racetrack (interesting). Being that we had a late start we figured we would do better just to grab some snacks from one of the stores at the gas stations off the A-1 and have ourselves a little relaxing picnic in our room before the concert.
What a great and very enjoyable idea!
Concerts in Italy are really a treat. There are no crowds to fight with and people are generally quite considerate. We arrived 10 minutes before the start and still were able to find a spot close the stage.
Bring it on Jack!
One song into the concert and it had exceeded all of my expectations, Jack Johnson ROCKS live!!! Both Keith and I are big fans so it was such a treat to finally see and hear him in person and he was every bit as good if not better than his recordings.
This should give you an idea of how close we were to the stage...not bad for general admission tickets, in fact pretty fantastic!
One thing I quickly learned, I definitely do not know all of the words the songs but apparently all the Italians surrounding us did!
What an amazing evening under the stars in Rome being serenaded by Jack Johnson and his band!!!
